The ship is rather battered and damaged, and isn't meant for combat. However, it's a very low-profile vehicle, and is an easily-forgotten thing due to its small size and trashed appearance. It works well enough for Mihoru, who doesn't really care what's going on away from planetside (which is whichever planet he's landed on or heading to next). The pilot is skilled enough to escape space combat almost every time, and it's pretty much impossible to keep him lured into battle - he knows the limits of his ship.
The speed of the Exalted is such that he may escape easily, but would just as easily be outrun; because he has a randomizing vector program put in to keep where he jumps to a secret, he can quickly confuse and lose anyone trying to pursue him (the program sends him through no less than three hyperspace jumps before triangulating star positions and drawing up a map as to where he now is in the galaxy).
The only thing commendable about this ship, however, is the simplicity and efficiency: a randomizing vector navigational escape system, a small energy field to protect him from surprise attacks just long enough to escape, and two smuggling areas that are practically rooms on their own (large enough to carry a family of wookiees).
