The Planet - Zasii
Zasii is a planet with several small colonies of survivors, as the sentient life is mostly composed of people that have crashlanded. Zasii has a very powerful magnetic field that few ships can resist, as well as an odd sort of 'natural suppression field' that messes with electronic equipment that gets near its atmosphere.
The planet is a temperate one, tilted on an axis at twenty-five (25) degrees; the poles of the planet are generally frozen, and the speed at which Zasii rotates leaves days being approximately twenty-four hours and nine minutes (24.15 hours). The Banadanalia System has a standard sun and thirteen planets; Zasii is the fourth from the sun.
Zasii has a thin orbit of rings around it, amongst which the moon (which also has rings) revolves. The moon is tidally locked with the planet it orbits, always showing the same side to the planet no matter which part of the month it is. Gravity is about 0.94 GB-Gs (Galactic Basic-Gs). Due to the closeness of the moon, and the rapid climate changes the planet often experiences, Zasii typically has violent weather that leaves few places habitable, though remains beautiful nonetheless. Form orbit, the planet appears to be striped, though this is actually the surface; the atmosphere's only colouring are clouds. There is a section of the planet that is always black, however (described below).
Along the equator are tropics composed entirely of island chains that span around the entire circumfrence of the planet. Surrounding the islands is a massive, planet-wide freshwater ocean that separates the planet's three continents: Rhajav, Lino'rea, and Crea. To the north of the ocean strip is a thin green band that marks a jungle; behind it is a massive tan mark that covers nearly the rest of the northern hemisphere: the desert. Another green band is above that, though at a different shade, marking the temperate forests; lastly, the northern pole is entirely white all year long, though the size of the white area varies yearly between summer and winter months.
South of the ocean strip, the world is entirely green, except for several large spots of blue, and the Great Void Zone that is directly between Crea and Lino'rea on the paracontintental strip of land; this black spot is marked by orange lines, a dark and dangerous volcanic terrain created by an asteroid's impact. The southern pole varies during winter and summer, but it is almost always uninhabitable. Summers are blistering hot due to its closeness to the sun, and winters are cold enough to freeze the blood in someone's body within minutes.
